Chartreuse Paris-Vauvert

Chartreuse paris-vauvert

This plural place, extending over two levels of 125 m² each, at 128 boulevard Saint-Germain, highlights the heritage and history of Chartreuse with Paris.

There we discover archives of the Chartreuse and the monastery of Vauvert. You can also admire original documents dating from the 17th and 18th centuries and a historic Carthusian still that was used in their 3rd distillery (Fourvoirie).

Continuing on, the museum spaces dedicated to herbalism and liqueurs extend the experience at the heart of the world of Chartreuse®.

A bar area transports you to Paris in the early 1900s as well as an intimate “speakeasy” (clandestine bar), available by reservation for events or workshops.

There you will find a selection of Chartreuse liqueurs and herbal teas for tastings highlighting the new range dedicated to herbal products.

Historic Visit in English retracing 5 centuries of the Carthusian monks in Paris Vauvert.

Visitors are invited to discover 500 years of history of the Carthusians Monks in Paris Vauvert. First of all , an introduction will be given in our cultural site , then we will step out in direction of the Jardin du Luxembourg with our guide .
The goal is to retrace together five centuries of the existence of the Carthusian monks in Paris from 1257 until the Revolution, where the secret recipe of 130 plants was given by the Duc D‘Estrees.
We will walk through the park where the monastery was located for about an 1H30. You will discover so many insights, fun facts and surprises before heading back to our speakeasy.
