Chartreuse : Unique in its diversity, a day full of discoveries

CHARTREUSE : a monastery, a museum, a distillery and a cellar.
Settled in the heart of this massif since 1084, the Carthusian Monks found the ideal remote location
for their contemplative activities and fabrication of the world-famous liqueur, the Green Chartreuse.

In 2 places :

♦  St Pierre de Chartreuse : Saint Pierre de Chartreuse: due to their vow of solitude and silence, the Carthusian monks cannot
open their monastery to visitors. The Grande Chartreuse museum, in La Correrie, the brothers’
former house building, is dedicated to the presentation of their life. READ MORE +

♦  Voiron : the tour would not be complete without a visit to the historical distillery in the Chartreuse
cellars. In the world’s longest liqueur cellar, learn all about the liqueur, its history and enjoy a liqueur
tasting too. READ MORE +
