Located in the
most beautiful section of the Chartreuse mountain range, this Museum -
housed in a 12th century building - was once part of the Monastery and
was the home of the Chartreuse Brothers from the 12th to the 17th
century.
In a building
recently restored to its original
condition, this museum will introduce you to the Chartreuse world of
meditation in silence and solitude.
Walking from the
Church to the Cloister, going through a Monk's cell, you will discover the
private life of a Chartreuse Monk inside the
Monastery.
Many videos, films,
photographs, paintings and artifacts will lead you through the history
of the Carthusian Order and will help you understand
their vocation.
